Heli Skiing Wyoming
We wanted to pay respects to some of the most extreme skiing imagery on the planet, ie, - this is our ode to Corbet's Couloir! LOL! (See below for a link to The Kings & Queens of Corbet's - INSANE!) But this site is about heli skiing...we digress...
Outside of Jackson, Wyoming may not be known as a popular skiing destination. Much of the state is covered in rolling grassland, except for the Westernmost portion. This region however, is home to a little slice of the Rockies that is simultaneously daunting, tantalizing, and beautiful. These three characteristics make it a prime place to enjoy some helicopter-assisted backcountry laps.
With only one option for an operator, heli skiing Wyoming is a straightforward process with little room for deviation. Below, you’ll learn everything you need to book the trip.
Heli Skiing Operators in Wyoming - Just One!
Wyoming is home to only one heliskiing company, and they maintain two bases of operations for their customer’s convenience. High Mountain Heli operates 13 miles south of Jackson at Astoria Hot Springs and at the Teton Springs Lodge and Spa in Victor, ID. Both locations give prime access to the densely forested and jaggedly rocky terrain of Jackson’s surrounding National Forests.
High Mountain Heli only offers single-day heli skiing Wyoming excursions, allowing you to explore all that the area has to offer. Accommodations are also the responsibility of the skier, but they do have partnered discounts with Teton Springs Lodge and Spa.
World-Class Travel Ideas!
If you're going to spend some time in Wyoming, warm up at Jackson Hole, then go heli skiing. After that, the Park is beautiful (and less crowded) in the winter. Take a snow mobile tour in Yellowstone to go see the buffalo...so cool! There are many operators to help!
