Facts & FAQ
While Kamchatka is at the same latitude as Scotland, the freezing winds from Siberia in the north combined with moisture-heavy storms from the Sea of Japan in the south, all but guarantee abundant snowfall from October to May each year. And with 68 active volcanos on its peninsula, Kamchatka is a land of extremes. Tectonic activity has created steep mountains descending vertically into the Pacific Ocean and lava flow is still forming new land. Part of the Ring of Fire, the horseshoe shaped chain of active volcanos in the Pacific Ocean, Kamchatka is known for its remote untouched wildnerness in Eastern Russia. Expect to see their famed brown bears from your helicopter ride!
