Norway Heli Skiing
Given the terrain, maritime snow, northern location and the appropriate climate (and the opportunities in neighboring Sweden), you might thinks that Norway heli skiing would have an active industry.
Unfortunately, heliskiing in Norway is illegal.
Why is heli skiing Norway not permitted?
Norway along with a few other countries, such as France and Germany do not permit heli skiing due to the environmental impact.
However, just because you cannot go heli skiing in Norway, doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the snow in this beautiful country! Operating heli skiing in Sweden is a company called, HeliNord which had a history of offering ski-touring in Norway. Yet, recent visits to their site no longer reveal evidence of continued offers for that package. Inquire with the operator directly for current packages.
Our continued research did uncover a site with very limited information about heli skiing in Lapland. Lapland is a region covering four separate countries – Norway, Sweden, Finland and Russia. This outfit claims to want to take you heli skiing in Norway. The content is very thin, but the site features a young entrepreneur with dreams of building a destination for tourism.
In our cataloging of heli skiing in over 35 different regions / locations and over 130 separate heli skiing destinations throughout the globe, unfortunately Norway appears to be a "no fly zone." 🙁
