Much like CMH Bugaboos, the lodge at Cariboos is in a remote location and only accessible via helicopter. To reach it, guests will have to meet at the operator’s helipad in Valemount, British Columbia. Most skiers first fly into Kelowna International Airport (YLW), which sits nearly 475 km South of Valemount.
CMH provides a coach transfer from the airport to their helipad, which greatly helps with the logistical process of transportation. Although the ride is over 5 hours, it’s all part of the adventure and well worth it to obtain access to some of the best skiing in the world.
Surrounded by horizon-cutting peaks and powder-blanketed treetops, the Cariboos 27-room lodge features modern amenities in a warm, down-to-earth atmosphere. With luxurious, but comfortable lounges and dining rooms, you’ll truly be able to feel at home when enjoying CMH heli skiing Cariboos. While some operators may offer cat skiing on down days, CMH does not. They do however provide a range of other activities:

As with all CMH heli skiing locations, various things are standardly included. Powder skis, snowboards, and poles are provided, but you must bring your own personal boots. Safety gear is also provided, which includes a radio, probe, and shovel. An optional avalanche flotation device can be rented.
CMH Cariboos is home to nearly 600 square miles (1,489 square kilometers) of terrain in CMH’s second Northernmost location. The greater distance from the Coast Mountain range means that the snowfall experienced here is lighter and drier, persisting much later into the season. The pronounced glacial landscape creates a skiing experience that’s mostly above treeline, allowing for long open-bowl descents.
This widespread openness makes CMH heli skiing Cariboos excellent for beginners. While you still must be an experienced intermediate skier, extreme ability levels are not required here.
