CMH Heli Skiing Bobbie Burns

Heli SkiingNotorious for its steep descents, ridiculous vertical, and long stretched out runs, CMH Heli Skiing Bobbie Burns is one of the most challenging destinations in their profile. Reserved for only the strongest expert skiers, the pace at Bobbie Burns is quick and unforgiving. With some of the largest amounts of vertical skiing in CMH’s tenure, visitors can expect a fulfilling and adrenalizing trip to interior British Columbia.

The state-of-the-art lodge allows extremists to unwind after their hard-charging days, rekindling with their new friends and preparing their minds and body for the next morning. If you’re after the ultimate alpine skiing experience – one that you can brag about for years – look no further than Bobbie Burns.

Facts & FAQ

Traveling to Bobbie Burns

Bobbie Burns is CMH’s closest location to Calgary International Airport, making it a prime destination for foreign travelers. Despite this proximity, Bobbie Burns is still a four-hour trek from the airport. Most individuals take advantage of CMH’s private coach transfer, bringing you straight to the airport from the heli-pad. Optionally, one can rent a car and drive it there. This occurs on the first day of your trip, so if you fly in late you may need to book accommodations in Calgary until the coach can arrive in the morning. The Calgary Marriot-in-Terminal Hotel is recommended.

Once at the heli-pad, skiers board a connecting helicopter that brings them to the remote backcountry lodge. This ride is short (less than 30 minutes) and allows you breathtaking views of the surrounding Selkirk and Purcell Mountains. On your final day, you will be brought once again to the heli-pad where you can board the return coach or hop in your rented vehicle.

CMH Heli Skiing Bobbie Burns Lodge: Accommodations

At CMH Heli Skiing Bobbie Burns, the amenities are truly top-notch. While Burns was one of the original locations CMH established, the lodge has recently been upgraded to reflect modernity. Even still, most of the rustic charm that was present from the beginning is still there, just with high-end upgrades. The 32-guest-room remote lodge allows you to recharge and refresh in the solitude of the Canadian wilderness, far from any distractions.

Some of the top amenities offered here include:

  • Outdoor hot tub with breathtaking mountain scenery
  • Full-service bar for socialization
  • CMH’s largest wine cellar
  • Upgraded game room with pinball
  • Indoor climbing wall

Terrain and Difficulty Levels

CMH Heli Skiing Bobbie Burns is not for the faint of heart. This extreme landscape offers some of the most boundary-pushing terrain in CMH’s portfolio. For this reason, trips here should only be booked by accomplished expert skiers who are looking to advance their skill level even further.

The pace at Bobbie Burns is fast, with few breaks during runs. People on these trips are looking to get as much skiing as they can, and it’s important you come in peak physical shape to keep up. While here, you can expect a healthy mixture of steep glacial runs at the top of the mountain, and long stretches of high-speed glades below.

CMH Heli Skiing Bobbie Burns: Packages

Bobbie Burns features a toned-down version of typical CMH packages, with only two being available. Both packages are designed for experienced skiers looking for an exhilarating time without anything holding them back. Fortunately, there are a variety of trip lengths available, making Bobbie Burns quite flexible in that regard.

Cat-skiing is not available for down days at Bobbie Burns, meaning if the weather is too dangerous, you’ll be staying at the lodge. However, with all their packages vertical guarantee is included. Should your trip not reach the stated number, you’ll receive a refund based on every 1,000 meters that are missed.

Package options include:

  • Signature Package: Available in 4,5, 6, or 7-day trip lengths, you’ll join 10 other skiers accompanied by 1 guide on a selection of B.C.’s most challenging runs.
  • Private & Exclusive: For those looking to keep their skiing group tight-knit, you and your friends or family (up to 4 people) will have the advantage of being led by 2 assigned guides, allowing you a personal and customizable experience.

Consult CMH directly for current packages and pricing.
