CMH Heli Skiing Adamants
Whether you’re a lone wolf skier, or simply prefer the intimate experience of a small skiing group, CMH heli skiing Adamants is designed for you. This location focuses on a low skier-to-guide ratio, allowing you to get as many turns in as possible. At Adamants, the priority is on hard, fast skiing, leaving nothing behind but powder tracks. You’ll never have to worry about being held up by a large group of novice heli skiers.
At Adamants, the lodging is a pure expression of this individual, hard-charging nature. You’ll have the opportunity to bond with your tight-knight group of fellow skiers over endless rounds of après ski, recounting the day’s excursion and planning the next.
Facts & FAQ
Like many CMH heli skiing locations, Adamants has an isolated backcountry lodge that can only be directly accessed via helicopter. This lodge becomes your base of operations for your days out in the mountains. A significant benefit of Adamants is that it’s still highly accessible, despite its remote nature.
You’ll first fly into Kelowna International Airport (YLW), where a CMH coach will pick you up upon your arrival. That bus will bring you directly to the Adamants helipad, where you’ll then enjoy a quick 10-minute flight to the lodge.
The lodge at Adamants is the perfect combination of relaxation, activity, and celebration. With 31 guest rooms, the lodge can accommodate any size group and has individual occupancy rooms for solo travelers. Typical accommodations are found here including chef-prepared entrees, a full-service bar, and complimentary laundry. In addition, the following entertainment is available:
- Outdoor hot tubs
- Sauna and steam room
- Climbing walls
- Cross-country and snowshoe trails
- Fat biking trails
CMH heli skiing Adamants is characterized by long, fast vertical drops surrounded by towering glacial peaks. 60% of the terrain is found in the alpine, resulting in a large amount of open-bowl skiing. While good physical fitness is a requirement, you do not have to be an extremely advanced skier to tackle Adamants. Most of the terrain is forgiving and not overly aggressive.
You’ll primarily be skiing on the east side of the Selkirks, notorious for their frequent, consistent snowstorms. On average the region receives 59 feet of annual snowpack.
Adamants is highly regarded for the small-group skiing packages it provides. Whereas many locations involved 10 or more people sharing a single chopper, at Adamants you’ll never ski with more than 3 other guests. CMH utilizes an A-Star B3 helicopter to accommodate these smaller group sizes, allowing you and your comrades access to more individualized terrain. The package options available at this location include:
- Small Group: You and 3 other skiers will share the experience with 1 highly skilled guide, who will bring you to the deepest hidden powder lines in the Selkirks. Skiing ability ranges from good to expert, and trip length can be either 5, 6, or 7-day.
- Small Group Powder Intro: Perfect for first-time heli skiing, the relaxed and intimate nature of this package allows you and your fellow skiers to explore at your own pace. Only 5-day trip lengths are available.
Should you experience a down day while at Adamants, rest assured that your trip won’t be ruined. Although cat skiing is not offered like at other operators, CMH does offer a vertical guarantee. For every 1,000 meters shy CMH comes, you’ll be able to receive a $180 refund or credit.
