The Bella Coola Tweedsmuir Lodge is the operator’s flagship destination, featuring room for up to 20 guests per week. It’s the classic heli skiing experience with people from all over the world staying at any given time. Situated on 60 acres of pristine coastal alpine property, the lodge is famous for grizzly bear visitations in summer and fall.
Tweedsmuir Park Lodge Bella Coola provides access to much of the operator’s extensive terrain. With a variety of packages available (including ones for solo travelers), this location is the perfect option for skiers who don’t require anything specific other than relaxation and a good time in the mountains.
Bella Coola Tweedsmuir Park Lodge: Facts & FAQ
Skiers will first need to fly into Vancouver International Airport, where a connecting flight will be made to Bella Coola Airport. Once landed, Bella Coola Heli Sports provides complimentary ground transportation. This is only a 45-minute journey and brings you directly to your accommodations.
When you stay at the Bella Coola Tweedsmuir Park Lodge, you’ll be housed in your own charming chalet. With 10 double occupancy cabins available, they’re the perfect lodging option for couples and friends. Single occupancy is available upon request for an extra $500 per night charge. All chalets have private en suite bathrooms, with a queen bed on the lower floor and a double bed up in the loft.
Chalets are organized in a village-like format, with a main lodge available at a short distance. Your helicopter lands on the lawn directly in front of your chalet, providing an experience of authenticity unlike any other. The main lodge features:
- High-end, gourmet restaurant
- Private full-service bar
- Fully-stocked wine cellar
- Spa with a gym and sauna
- Outdoor, covered hot tub
In general, guests staying at the Bella Coola Heli Sports Tweedsmuir Park Lodge will experience 6-12 runs on any given day, with vertical feet ranging drastically. Runs can be as short as 1,000 feet of vertical through densely packed trees, or as long and descending as a 5,000-foot alpine cruiser.
The beauty of the Bella Coola Tweedsmuir Park Lodge is that you can ski in small groups of no more than four people. This allows you to explore further and faster, with more room for challenging terrain if the entire group is up to it. All skill levels are welcome, but it’s encouraged to fill out the ability questionnaire honestly so that you and your group members won’t be disappointed.
The Tweedsmuir Park Lodge Bella Coola BC is the classic heli skiing experience. All package options are small, ensuring that you’ll get an experience tailored just to you. Tweedsmuir flies A-Star helicopters, perfecting for accommodating these intimate heli skiing groups.
Package options include:
- Single Group Private Heli Skiing: You and 3 of your closest friends will receive exclusive access to the terrain surrounding Tweedsmuir. One guide is provided.
- Small Group Vertical Heli Skiing: This entails the same number of people per helicopter, except that they may be strangers. Rest assured; you’ll be well acquainted after your trip.
- Two Group Private Heli Skiing: Perfect for private 1-2 groups of four to eight people. For each group of four, a guide is provided and 2 groups may share the A-Star helicopter.

Unfortunately, on down days, the Bella Coola Tweedsmuir Lodge does not provide cat skiing. They do offer refunds on vertical feet in case their guarantees are not met.
