Silvertip Lodge Heliskiing
Situated deep within the Cariboo Mountains of British Columbia, Silvertip Lodge offers one of the most remote heli skiing operations. Accessible only by helicopter, their backcountry retreat offers the perfect balance of serenity, relaxation, and adrenaline. As a self-proclaimed bespoke heli skiing operator, Silvertip provides unlimited vertical, allowing you to ski as much as your heart (and legs) desire.
Perfect for pre-booked groups, as well as solo travelers, Silvertip is the premier destination for authentic heli skiing. Rather than being put up in a glitzy hotel in the center of town, you’ll be able to enjoy the peace and quiet of an isolated lodge that rejuvenates and inspires.
Facts & FAQ
No roads surround Silvertip Lodge, meaning that traveling here is part of the adventure. But, if you’re considering this operator in the first place, that’s likely what you’re all about.
Skiers are first required to fly into Vancouver International Airport. From there, you’ll need to board a connecting flight to Williams Lake Airport. This flight is privately chartered by Central Mountain Air, providing you with a high-end, refined experience. Once you touch down in Williams Lake, an airport representative will assist you in boarding your connecting helicopter flight to Silvertip Lodge.
Accommodations are a highlight of the Silvertip heli skiing experience. The lodge is a massive, 7,000+ square foot, triple A-frame chalet. It has 8 guest rooms on the top level, each with its own en suite bathroom. In addition, a guest cabin can be found next to the main lodge with two additional bedrooms.
Across the 14-acre property sits a spa house, where massages and hot tub soaking can be enjoyed. In addition to these spa amenities, you’ll be provided with:
- Gourmet cuisine and wines from renowned chefs
- Morning stretch classes
- Billiards room for socialization
- Personal service bar
- Outdoor recreational activities around the property
The uniqueness of Silvertip is that you don’t need to be an experienced skier to enjoy their backcountry tenure. This operator welcomes all ability levels, even powder-skiing beginners. Their only recommendation is that if you’re traveling solo, aim to be a strong intermediate skier so that you’re not left behind with other group members.
As far as the terrain goes, you won’t be disappointed. You’ll have over 1,400 square kilometers to explore in an unlimited fashion. Silvertip does not care about numbers like vertical and runs. They’re simply out to give you the best unlimited skiing experience they can. The Cariboo Mountains are highlighted by alpine glaciers, and naturally-spaced trees, providing you with a complete B.C. skiing experience.
Silvertip specializes in group booking and private lodge buyouts, able to accommodate up to 16 guests at a time. However, even individual skiers are welcome. The operator keeps it simple with their packages, which only differ in the number of days. Options include:
- 3, 4, 5, 6, or 7 days
These packages included transportation costs from Vancouver airport (including the chartered flight), powder skis, avalanche gear, accommodations, and all meals. Silvertip flies a Bell 205 and unfortunately does not offer down-day alternatives like cat skiing.
