Facts & FAQ
Located in Cordova, Points North Heli Skiing embodies remote access much like other Alaskan operators. Their unique separation requires a connecting regional flight from either Seattle or Anchorage International Airport. Luckily, this is provided twice daily by Alaska Airlines, making Cordova quite accessible even when you’re tight on time.
Optionally, you may also take a connecting ferry although the travel time with this method is much longer. Once in Cordova, you’ll be emersed in a beautiful, small coastal town that has a deep and rich history. The lodge is located just 2.5 miles from the heart of the town, and Points North Heli Skiing provides direct transportation to and from the airport.
All-inclusive accommodations are provided when you book a heli skiing trip with Points North Heliskiing. The operator houses its guests in the 37-room Orca Adventure Lodge. Established in 1887 for use by the fishing industry, the lodge has since undergone significant renovations. Now, this state-of-the-art facility is a refreshing breath of modernity in an otherwise remote location.
Included in your stay at the Orca Adventure Lodge is:
- Wood-Fired Sauna
- Full Gym with Weights and Cardio Equipment
- Direct Access to the Helipad
- Wireless Internet Access (the only Alaskan heli skiing operator to provide this)
- On-site Restaurant for All Meals and Snacks
Despite their prominence as an extreme skiing film guide, Points North Heliskiing proudly offers terrain suitable for all abilities levels. While there is always advanced and expert terrain available, up to 50% of their tenure can meet the needs of beginners. When group fitness and skill level allow, Points North guides seek out challenging, heart-racing lines.
Whereas many heli skiing operators share terrain, Points North has access to an exclusive region of the Chugach’s where no other heli skiing operators do business. Recently, the operator became the recipient of a new Forest Service permit that allows them first-access to previously untouched areas of the Chugach Mountain range.
