Home / alaska / 2026 trip of a lifetime

Hey Heli-skier! You're Invited to Come Charge the Chugach!

Heliskiing Blue Bird Day in The Selkirk Mountains British Columbia

Heliskiing a Blue Bird Day - Four friends in The Selkirk Mountains British Columbia

Join me and seven other skiers / boarders at Triple Point Expeditions for an exclusive, semi-private heliskiing trip to Alaska - the trip of your lifetime…let’s go charge the Chugach!

“If you’re wondering if you should go heliskiing in Alaska this coming season, you’ll be a year older next year when you do go!” – Warren Miller

When: Two potential 2026 dates:

#1 Saturday March 21st – Saturday March 28th.  Remaining available seats  = ONLY 3

#2 Saturday March 28th – Saturday April 4th. (Easter Sunday is April 5th.)  Remaining available seats  = ONLY 7

I have booked the first seat (1 of 4 or 1 of 8). The first date #1 has a current reservation from a past group of clients, but no deposit yet, so those seats may be already taken. I slightly prefer this date. However, it would be fun to fill the A-Star with (2) groups of 4 skiers that I know! Again, I’m going regardless of responses, so seat 1 is mine!

I’ve been communicating with Tucker (the owner) for a week. He describes arrival Saturday and particularly departure Saturday as a “bonus” ski day. They are DEFINITELY set up for MAX skiing, and they will deliver to our wishes, weather permitting. Stay flexible on the return flight.

I have reviewed the return flight options, and I’m comfortable with what I see to make it home and be included in family activity in Easter. Yes, I’ll be whooped from the trip! Isn’t that the point!?

TRIP ADD ON: I will very likely add on 2-3 nights at Alyeska Resort https://www.alyeskaresort.com/ It’s in the neighborhood, and it’s an IKON resort, so kind of a no-brainer, because I have yet to ski it.

DOUBLE ADD ON !!: As you may know, Chugach Powder Guides https://heli-skier.com/alaska/chugach-powder-guides/ operates out of the Alyeska Resort! They offer single day heliskiing, so a day on the hill + a day in the heli may be just the perfect warm-up for your REAL upcoming Alaskan heliski adventure! Right? Trip of a lifetime!

WHY late March? Although it’s my 10th heli-trip, yet my first to AK, late March should potentially offer the best of all worlds as it relates to conditions. Accumulated, stable snow pack, offering steeper skiable aspects. Potential fresh snow; potential for all different facing slope aspects; slightly warmer; longer flying days. February would likely be deeper, of course, and April would likely be warmer with less down days. I thought for trip one to AK, I would shoot for the middle of the season.

WHY Tripple Point Expeditions (TPX)? https://triplepointexpeditions.com/  Good question. TPX was NOT part of our website launch in 10/23; I had not “found” them yet. I only just discovered them by word of mouth at the Vancouver airport, returning from our Bear Paw trip this March! https://heli-skier.com/british-columbia/bear-paw-heliskiing/ (Exquisite!) Everything I’ve learned about TPX, I REALLY LIKE! Small, boutique, high-end, exclusive semi-private (only 2 groups of 4 – one A-Star), experienced, family owned, well located, lodge w/ heli-pad, 8 private rooms, well-staffed - lots of IFMGA & UIAGM guides, large website, premium chefs, book with the owner directly, etc.

50 minutes from ANC airport, in Palmer, AK they are AWAY from the Valdez concentration of at least five operators. TPX has access to 9 million acres in five different mountain ranges, including the Chugach - ENOURMOUS POSIBILITES. I’ve frequently asked operators and guides (anywhere) about the “cluster F” operating out of Valdez. Although it’s less likely to occur, the competition for premium lines, especially during weather that condenses terrain options IS a CONCERN. TPX is removed from that, and easier to get to than Valdez. SEE MAP with yellow HOUSE in the middle, as home base:

Heliskiing Map For Tpx

Tucker Patton, the founder of TPX reminds me a lot of my younger self! I’ve consumed nearly all of his public content and like what I hear. He’s a (big-wave) surfer, as I was. He appears to work hard at livin’ the dream, as I always have!

Price: $16,917 USD. Out of curiosity, I wanted to re-assess the AK market for pricing comparisons. Here’s what I found:

First of all, if you peruse our directory of Alaska operators https://heli-skier.com/alaska/ , you’ll discover operators offering many packages that represent a week of skiing with a much lower volume of runs or hobbs hours (aircraft flight time.) For instance, https://heli-skier.com/alaska/Alaska-Heliskiing/ offers a 10-day package for $10,450 for just 40 runs. You could easily ski that in 3 days! That’s an apples to oranges heliskiing comparison.

Here's a more realistic value proposition comparison:

https://heli-skier.com/alaska/Tordrillo-Mountain-Lodge/  Tordrillo (main lodge) is charging $18,500 a week, with 12 guests, 3 groups of 4, in ONE aircraft. (Judd Lake is same price for 8 guests, but only 4 rooms…hmmm!)

The bougie https://heli-skier.com/alaska/third-edge-heli/ with same operator profile & location, but a higher-end lodge?, does not quote prices on their site – I guarantee its comparable with Tordrillo.

Valdez Heliski Guides – the OG: (Ode to Doug Coombs) https://heli-skier.com/alaska/Valdez-Heliski-Guides/ currently asking $15,000 a week for 2026. 2 groups, 1 A-Star, but only 5 hobbs hours of flight time. TPX offers 6 hobbs hours, and you’re expected to be utilizing them all. LOTS of skiing!

So, the TPX pricing is competitive. EVERY heli-skiing trip is the trip of a lifetime, so it requires an investment to score! I’ve done some really cool stuff in my life, but some of my GREATEST memories are of heliskiing trips! ABSOLUTELY Priceless.

What to expect regarding the PACE of the ski program: Expect to ski your ass off! Last season in Feb, at Bell 2 Lodge https://heli-skier.com/british-columbia/last-frontier-heliskiing/bell-2-lodge/ , I skied 74,126 feet (about 45 runs) in the first three days. I felt like a heliskiing rockstar at age 61! I expect a similar pace, as is demonstrated by the TPX website. This trip is for fit, expert skiers – PERIOD.

What I’m not interested in: “No Fall Turns” & Slope angles that scare the shit out of me! I probably max out around 45-50 degrees. Here are the stats from the TPX site:

Heliskiing Ski Stats at TPX

And if there are down days, who wants to go surfing with a heli and a boat as transportation! Or just go to the breweries and then go snowmobiling or dog sledding! Right!?

Heliskiing Down Day Activities at TPX

This trip is going to be my best yet! I’m so STOKED to go to AK! Stoked to see Alyeska and maybe Chugash Powder Guides as well…probably…well…very likely!

I’d love to have some familiar faces join me!

If this feels like a promotional piece, it’s NOT! If it were, I’d work harder on visual esthetics! For now, this is just for fun!

That said, my loose-knit team at https://heli-skier.com/ has been actively “warming up,” entering the tour operator space in the heliskiing industry. Operators that I have a strong relationship with such as Last Frontier have been terrific in getting us started – my “retirement gig.” 😊

So, at the moment, this small promotion is just for fun to see if I can rally some friends & acquaintances. I currently have no expected financial gain from this promotion – JUST SHARING THE STOKE!

Please call, text or email and get back to me ASAP with any interest. These seats are very limited and will get sold with or without my efforts.

I'll see you in the A-Star in Alaska!

All the Best,

Pete Brady
