Alaska Mountain Guides
Although we do not typically list on our site adventure companies that do not have an exclusive focus on heliskiing, we’ve made an exception here.
Obviously there is a crossover in skill sets for all adventure guiding. Staff tend to have that same gene in their blood, so if you can keep a company culture that retains team members year-after-year, because of the synergy in all the different sports that you are guiding, well then, we're assuming you’re probably onto something, like the business theme that Alaska Mountain Guides operates within.
Including heliskiing in two separate destinations, Alaska Mountain Guides offers:
- A Climbing School
- A Heli-ski Guide Training Course
- Whitewater Rafting Expeditions
- River Expeditions
- Climbing Expeditions
- Sea Kayaking Expeditions
- Trekking Expeditions
- Backcountry Skiing
Leadership & Guide Training Courses ON ALL of THE ABOVE!
…And…a specialty climbing trip to the 22,841’ peak of Aconcagua!
So, they have a lot of offerings, AND they advertise heliskiing expertise for over 25+ years.
However, we’re hoping that they rely on an ongoing reputation other than what heliskiing information is demonstrated on their website…which isn’t much!
Accommodations:
Haines Location: It’s not clear from our research exactly what their in/out heliski lodge is. But their accommodations are clear: You’ll stay at either a “rental home close to downtown,” OR lodging at a local hotel.
Skagway Location: AMG will “arrange lodging in town for you.”
Packages
7 Days at Haines
7 Days at Skagway
Conclusion: this operator is very thin on content. They only mention one guide by name, and their accommodations are vague. We don’t have much to go on here…
